Sky, Disney ink multi-year programming and channel agreement

Pay-TV giant Sky has agreed a new multi-year movie and TV agreement with Disney UK & Ireland to offer the latter's content live, on-demand and on the go.
RTVN 13 oct Sky DisneyIn practical terms, the deal will mean that Sky Movies and NOW TV Sky Movies Pass customers will be able to watch a host of blockbuster content in the first pay-TV window from around nine months after their release in cinemas. This includes premieres of films such as Inside Out, The Good Dinosaur and Star Wars: The Force Awakens, and bouquets like the Sky Movies Disney channel and all the latest Disney, DisneyPixar, Marvel Studios and Lucasfilm content, all in high definition (HD) and in some cases, 3D.
The TV channels Disney Channel, Disney XD and Disney Junior will continue to be available through Sky's subscription packages in both standard and HD. In addition the new deal will see customers have access to more Disney Channels series through catch-up TV and on-demand than currently available, at no extra cost. Also included in this agreement are ABC Studios prime time drama and comedy series, available via ABC Studios on-demand, through Sky Box Sets.
