US satellite operator DISH Network has reached a multi-year agreement with TEGNA for local retransmission.

The agreement is for carriage of the broadcaster's local channels in 38 markets.

The terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

The satellite operator had gone into battle over fees with the former Gannett-owned pay-TV firm who claims to have the largest independent station group of major network affiliates in the top 25 US markets, reaching approximately a third of all television households in the country.
