Hi Freddie...Yes the D2MAC cards were my favourites as i use to watch the French channels and Scandinavian channels with the cards..i still have a BSB square dish system in a box in my garage..although BSB only had 5 channels it was way ahead of its rivals in terms of quality and contents..When SKY took over BSB i was offered the SKY system if i handed over my BSB system to them..i refused and kept the BSB until it was switched off by SKY..I may play around with the square dish and see if i can pick up any satellites.

As with most things tho' if the UK authorities can't control, they ban...then the banned go undercover. I can remember Maggie Thatcher banning Red Hot Dutch from UK satellite airwaves. Suddenly the sales of D2MAC STB's became very popular among satellite enthusiasts. Another trick played on an Arab program was the Maharajah chatting until 12:00 EU time, then ending, but if you changed the H to V on that particular transponder you could receive free porn...after he finished.

My 1.1 elliptical Triax dish on a Jaegar H to H motor and 36 volt positioner is around ten years old now but still works perfectly. It was the STB and TV that were phased out by digital. I get fantastic HD pictures on most channels now, and with the ability to "record what you see" with the TM-5402 to a memory stick is great. I've just added a 1 TB external hard drive to the USB input so I'm ready for WYSIWYG for news casts or documents.

Hi Freddie..At last i have found out why my Red Hot Dutch was not working after i purchased the box and viewing card from their office in Manchester(i think i paid 60 pounds for it)..it was Maggie Thatcher's fault for banning the channel.. i will never vote Tory again..... thanks for the trip down memory lane. Hi Karabanga,
That's right, you learn something new every day...or should do. Any results with the TM-5402 Spectrum Analyser yet ?

My sentiments exactly, that's why I'm intrigued by it. Could find no page in the manual, or on TM's website and can get no answers from other sat sites. Please don't tell me I've a "one off" experimental Enigma type machine worth millions !!

Just one other problem for you to mull over....I get near perfect 91% quality from Astra 4A/SES-5 at 4.5' east...BUT certain times of the day for several hours I get diddly squit....zero signals completely. Have a nice weekend.

    Re: TM-5402 HD M3 CI Super +

    Hi,
No need to "mull over" the Astra 4A/SES-5 at 4.8 east problem I had of a disappearing "No Signal" satellite. AS ever, the satellite remained there, BUT some of the channels I deleted as "no good to my viewing" were in fact stronger signals to the one's I preferred. Trofey on transponder 12.265 H 30000 and Music Box on 11.767 H 27501 sometimes pixelate as the signal decreases...then below 49% ceases to exist and shows "No Signal". I've since deleted all transponders on Astra 4A as a recent update on the satellite {via Kingofsat} shows...then a Blind search of All Free TV. The inevitable few scrambled channels deleted... and PTN and CGTN respective transponders retained as strong signals. I have now "sandwiched" the weak between the strong, and a NO Signal doesn't mean my dish has fallen off the wall, or the satellite has ceased to function...or even the Powermid transmitter to other rooms has failed. One small blip caused a few problems...now solved. Maybe this info will help a newbie in the future.
    Freddie.
