DIRECTV, PDI, Foxcom, Stirling, Sonora & Applied Instruments Launch National Training Tour
New technology is providing more opportunities to offer satellite television into multiuser environments. Applications in commercial, MDU and SMATV coupled with the desire of these properties incorporate High Definition, Digital Signage and other products has created significant growth potential to savvy retailers. Due to the high cost and profile of these customers, retailers must have a comprehensive strategy to effectively target, install and maintain these properties.
Halsted Commercial Training Group along with PDI SAT, Stirling Connectors, Applied Instruments, Foxcom, Drake and Sonora Designs have launched an initiative to provide advanced SBCA certifications and product trainings to contractors and retailers nationwide in San Diego and Chicago last month. The schedule, which is located at https://www.rfcertification.com/Schedule.html features stops in cities nationwide. Industry leaders such as DIRECTV will host trainings at their facilities in Denver, Los Angeles, and Baltimore. Stirling Connectors will host two weeks of training at their facility in Indianapolis and NAS (manufacture of the MFH-2 system) will host classes at their headquarters in Brooklyn NY.
All sessions incorporate extensive hands on materials including thousands of feet of cable, a complete live SMATV system along with full MFH-1 & MFH-2 over fiber distribution systems. This allows the student to experience real life situations as they replicate the very problems they are expected to solve during the certification exam.
Each day a "lunch and learn session" will be featured. Lunch is provided while an industry leader demonstrates relevant product solutions to topics discussed in class. A highlight of these seminars has been the Stirling Connectors lunch and learn sessions, where everyone who participated received a free Stirling compression toolkit and universal compression connectors. Lunch and learn partners include: Foxcom Fiber Optic Products, Drake Modulators, Applied Instruments and Sonora Designs among others.
The classes have been well received so far. Mike from MDUC says, "Dan Webber is a professional and knowledgeable instructor. Dan's training classes are informative, fun and exciting." Owen from Entropic Communications had this to say, "Jeff Hubbard lively presented all the classes with the right mix of theory, regulations, product specific details and great real life examples. The hands on part of the training courses were very educational. Highly recommended for installers and their teams to really understand the great power and benefits of today's and tomorrow's satellite dish distribution systems."
Future classes will include The Basics of Fiber Optics and Digital Signage Video Integration. These classes are designed to introduce the current satellite retailer and installer to new revenue streams in proven upcoming technologies.
