DIRECTV Inks Mtn. Deal
The television network for the Mountain West Conference picked up a key carriage deal on Friday.
The channel, known as The Mtn., said DIRECTV will launch its service covering the college conference no later than Sept. 1. Channel position and package details will be available as they are finalized and the launch date nears, the programmer said.
Said MWC Commissioner Craig Thompson, "Having The Mtn. available to nearly 17 million subscribers will generate even greater exposure for the conference and our nine premier member institutions."
The Mtn. premiered on Sept. 1. The network covers more than 200 collegiate sporting events, including football, basketball, Olympic sports and conference championship coverage.
