Intelsat Launch Plans, More Car Deals for XM
Intelsat reported fourth quarter revenue of $575.5 million and a net loss of $2.6 million. The satellite services provider said it plans to launch two satellites, Galaxy 18 and Galaxy 19, in the second quarter and third quarter, respectively. Intelsat said its remaining three satellites on order are set for launches in 2009.
SAT RADIO - XM said its satellite radio service will be a factory-installed standard feature on the 2010 Genesis Coupe from Hyundai. And the company said its XM NavTraffic service will be available on the 2009 Infiniti FX.
PEOPLE - SWE-DISH Satellite Systems AB, a DataPath company specializing in compact, quick-to-air and easy-to-use mobile satellite communications equipment, named James Gerow as president of SWE-DISH Satellite Systems Inc., a unit focused on the U.S. market.
