Alves delight at debut

Brazilian wants more

Middlesbrough star Afonso Alves was delighted with his double salvo against Manchester United.

Alves has taken time to adapt to life in Englnad, following his record breaking move from Heerenveen in January.

But he broke his scoring duck in wonderful fashion on Sunday as he fired home twice to give Boro a 2-2 draw with top-of-the-table United.

Alves admits he was thrilled to score against United, but insisted that is only the start.

"It was a dream to score against Manchester United, but I want to score against other teams as well," he said.

"I needed time and patience but I knew the goals would come. I was not worried when I missed chances against Chelsea because I knew it was only a matter of time.

"I'd have had a lot more to smile about if we had won."
