Carrick - Draw just a blip

United ace says draw won't dent confidence

Michael Carrick says Manchester United will not let their blip against Middlesbrough affect their display against Arsenal.

The Red Devils have been in red hot form recently, but dropped two points on Sunday after being held to a 2-2 draw in an entertaining clash at The Riverside.

The draw enabled Chelsea to close to within three points of the leaders, however, Carrick insists United's confidence has not been dented.

Carrick and co tackle The Gunners on Sunday and the former Spurs man is looking for a response from his team-mates to extinguish Arsenal's slim title hopes.

Good position

"We are still in a good position so we won't get too down," said Carrick.

"Okay we didn't win against Middlesbrough but we are up there and confident going into the Arsenal game.

"As a club we don't get carried away. We just focus on the next match.

"We are a good side so we will bounce back. It is not a problem.

"We know we are playing well and are in a good position."
