Orange TV looks to expand before launch

Orange has bought satellite capacity from both Eutelsat and Astra for its planned bouquet of DTH channels and will also launch the service outside of its home market.

Orange’s new cross-platform channel bouquet, Orange Cinéma Series, will launch in France in the fourth quarter of this year. It will be available to Orange TV IPTV subscribers, as well as via the internet and mobile TV.

Both movies and drama channels will be offered in the six-channel bouquet as well as on-demand fare. Deals have been signed with Warner Bros (exclusively), Gaumont, HBO and Fidélité Films (also exclusively).

Orange’s TV service will be available later this year in Poland and Spain as well as in France. It is planned to be available via IPTV, internet and mobile as well as a DTH service.
