Ronaldo targeting United double

Red Devils ace keen to win League and Champions League

Cristiano Ronaldo says Manchester United's current crop of stars can only be considered Sir Alex Ferguson's best providing they win the Double.

The Red Devils boss recently labelled his troops his best during his 22 years at the club, a list of squads that includes his all-conquering treble winners of 1999.

However, Ronaldo does not believe Ferguson's comments will be justified unless the team go on to secure domestic and European honours between now and the summer.

United currently hold a three-point lead on Chelsea at the summit of the Premier League table, while they are two games against Barcelona away from a UEFA Champions League final appearance in Moscow.

"What he said about the team makes me feel great," Ronaldo said in The Sun. "Ferguson has been at the club for more than 20 years.

"I also think this is the most talented team Ferguson's had - but you can only confirm that at the end of the season by seeing what the team has won.

"Game after game we have shown we have a fantastic team and magnificent players.

"But only if we win the Champions League or the Premier League will we be able to give a definitive answer as to whether this is really the best United team of all time.

"Both the Premier League and the Champions League are important - and we will try to win both."
