RTBF to join new Belgian TeleSat DTH platform

Today, Jean-Paul Philippot, General Manager of the RTBF, and Kurt Pauwels and Yann Guyonic, General Manager and Vice President of the new Bekgian DTH platcorm TéléSat, signed an agreement to carry all TV and radio channels from the French language Belgian public broadcaster.

The contract secures satellite carriage for the French-language TV channels La Une and La Deux, as well as the radiostations La Première, VivaCité, Musiq3, Classic 21 and Pure FM as part of the new satellite platform. The international RTBF channel, RTBF Sat, is already available free-to-air on Astra.

TéléSAT expects to add further contracts with other broadcasters in the next few weeks. The platform is a sister company of TV Vlaanderen, the Dutch language DTH platform for Belgium, that now said it counts 60,000 subscribers.
