DISH Adds Local HD Market, NDS Results

DISH Network said it added high-def locals for customers in the Norfolk-Portsmouth-Newport News, Va., market. The company said it now offers HD locals in 55 markets, reaching more than 64 percent of U.S. TV households.

TECHNOLOGY - NDS Group, the conditional access company and TV technology unit of News Corp., said fiscal third quarter revenues rose 20 percent to $213.3 million. Operating income for the period was up 21 percent to $43.3 million. During a conference call, NDS executives had no comment on the ongoing federal trial involving the company and DISH Network.
