BT Vision recorded 94,000 net customer additions during the first three months of 2008, the company said today.

The hybrid television service, which offers Freeview channels via digital terrestrial and video on demand over a DSL broadband connection, had 214,000 users at the end of March.

Announcing its results for the final quarter of the financial year, BT said growth of the service had accelerated.

The company said 68% of the 94,000 new customers had taken subscription TV services on top of the basic BT Vision package, and that users accessed VOD services an average of 29 times per month.

Overall, BT recorded revenues of 5.42bn during the quarter, up 2% year-on-year.
