FCC will "Do Something Soon"

Federal Communications Commission Chairman Kevin Martin said during a CNBC interview Thursday he expects the agency "to do something soon" about the pending merger between Sirius and XM.

The FCC is the final regulatory hurdle for the companies before they can combine operations. While on CNBC, Martin defended the long review process, saying the deal was "extraordinary."

XM and Sirius first proposed their merger in February 2007.
