Portugal boss pleased as side edges towards knock-out stages
Portugal coach Luiz Felipe Scolari believes they are half way to reaching the knock-out stages of Euro 2008.
The 2004 losing finalists got their campaign off to a flying start with an impressive 2-0 win over Turkey courtesy of goals from Pepe and substitute Raul Meireles.
Scolari was happy with the win as they moved to the top of Group A on goal difference ahead of Czech Republic.
"We are on the right path," said Scolari.
"We won the match and are 50 per cent towards qualification. We needed six points so 50 per cent after one match is excellent.
"They showed good technical quality and impressive form - they were dynamic and willing to win. I am very pleased to have started with a good victory."
