Liberty Eyeing Bigger DIRECTV Stake?
As one may expect, Liberty Media, which holds a controlling stake in DIRECTV, still likes the DBS service.
At Liberty Media's annual shareholders meeting Friday, CEO Greg Maffei said the company may likely increase its holdings in DIRECTV to more than 50 percent, stated reports from the event in suburban Denver.
At the moment, Liberty controls about 48 percent of DIRECTV. That's up from a previous 41 percent stake in the small dish service, which was acquired from News Corp. earlier in the year.
