Schuster holds Ronaldo hope
But Real coach not having sleepless nights over club's interest
Bernd Schuster insists Real Madrid are not 'obsessed' about capturing Cristiano Ronaldo, but admits the winger would be a 'great signing'.
Real have put the Footballer of the Year at the top of their summer shopping list, but have angered Manchester United with their public pursuit of the 23-year-old.
United issued a statement on 27th May to say they would take the issue up with Fifa, if Real 'continued to involve itself in the future of Ronaldo'.
On Monday, United confirmed a complaint had been made to world football's governing body after Real failed to heed the warning from the Premier League champions.
Fifa are now looking into the matter, but Real coach Schuster is adamant the Spanish giants' interest in signing Ronaldo is not causing him great concern.
"This Cristiano matter does not worry me nor am I obsessed by it," Schuster told Marca.
"While he doesn't play for Madrid all we can do is hope, although it's clear that he would be a great signing and would adapt well to our squad."
Ronaldo was quoted over the weekend that he has still to decide his future, despite reported comments last week that claimed he wants to play for Real.
