DISH Scores WGN, Tribune Carriage Deal

On Thursday, DISH Network announced an agreement with Tribune that allows the DBS service to add WGN America in HD to its high-def lineup.

Also as part of the agreement, DISH said it will begin delivering high-def programming from four Tribune stations in key major markets: KCPQ FOX in Seattle, WPIX in New York and KTXL FOX in Sacramento, along with WGN in Chicago. The agreement also provides for DISH to launch and carry the HD signals of the rest of the Tribune group, which covers 23 television stations in 19 markets.

WGN America in HD is available to DISH Network customers who subscribe to AT200 Essential HD and higher, as well as DISH's HD-only Absolute programming package, available for $29.99 a month. DISH Network's Latino subscribers also may find WGN America in HD in DISH Latino MAX HD and higher.
