Badoer retains top spot

Ferrari fastest again in Barcelona

Ferrari test driver Luca Badoer set the pace for the second day running at the Barcelona circuit in Spain.

The Italian clocked a 1:21.013 as he once again spent the day focusing on aerodynamic evaluations for the reigning World Champions. Badoer amassed a total of 95 laps.

Second place went to the day's only other test driver in action, Pedro de la Rosa. The McLaren man completed 111 laps with a best time of 1:21.374.

Timo Glock was the fastest of the regular drivers but the Toyota driver was over half a second off Badoer's pace.

Fourth place went to Nico Rosberg, who narrowly beat fellow midfield driver David Coulthard. Rosberg and Williams are determined to improve their pace after falling behind both Red Bull and Toyota in the standings in the last race in Canada.

And that race's winner, Robert Kubica, finished down in sixth place in Friday's test. The Polish driver, who now leads the standings, clocked a 1:21.761 during his 114 laps.

Rubens Barrichello was seventh ahead of Nelson Piquet Jr while Seb Bourdais completed the timesheets.
