DIRECTV, ESPN2 Have Wimbledon Covered

Following up on its French Open interactive broadcasts last month, DIRECTV said it is again partnering with ESPN2 to provide nearly 200 hours of live interactive coverage from the first five days of the 2008 Wimbledon Championship. The company said Wimbledon Interactive will offer a Mix channel that will display six channels on one screen, a "Wimbledon Extra" channel that features look-ins on key matches, highlights and interviews, and action on four other courts from ESPN2.

STMicroelectronics said it signed an agreement with WorldSpace to develop, manufacture and distribute chips for European satellite digital radio receivers. The receivers will support WorldSpace's European and Middle East service offering, which will launch in Italy next year.
