Italian DTT pay package Mediaset Premium continues to deliver strong numbers for the Italian broadcaster. In the first half of 2008 sales of pre-paid cards and top-ups (so-called recharges) generated revenues of 59.3 million, representing a significant uplift from the 36.2 million in the same period last year.
Mediaset reports that since July 1, 2007, when the new Mediaset Premium offer was launched, to July 27 revenues generated from the sale of Mediaset Premium pre-paid cards and top-ups reached 27.9m. This represents a 67% increase on the 16.7 million of the previous year.
Unlike previous announcements Mediaset has not given details of the number of new cards sold or top-ups made purchased customers.
