Unitymedia buys two PrimaCom nets

German cable operator PrimaCom AG announced it will sell two cablenets to Unitymedia; it concerns the networks in the cities of Aachen and Wiesbaden. The price is just over 49 million euro.

In a statement, PrimaCom chairman Markus Schmid said the company wants to concentrate its business in the main service areas of the company, as they have an isolated infrastructure; both Aachen and Wiesbaden are in the states of Nordrhine-Westphalia and Hesse respectively, which are mainly served by Unitymedia.

The transaction will be finalised after the German authorities have approved the sale.
