Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow (PG) 2004 Giant flying robots attack New York and only the heroic Sky Captain and a tenacious reporter seem able to save the day. Gleefully old-fashioned sci-fi adventure, notable for the use of computer-generated backgrounds and real actors, which gives it a unique feel. Jude Law, Gwyneth Paltrow and Angelina Jolie head the cast, which also includes appearances by a digitally recreated Laurence Olivier (888)

The Man in the Iron Mask (PG) 1977 The despotic king of France has his identical twin brother the rightful monarch locked up, his identity concealed by a metal mask. But musketeer D'Artagnan has a plan to put the rightful heir on the throne. Lively swashbuckling adventure, adapted from the classic story by Alexandre Dumas, and starring Richard Chamberlain in a dual role. Patrick McGoohan, Louis Jourdan and Jenny Agutter co-star (888)

Escape to Athena (PG) 1979 A group of World War Two Allied PoWs plan to defy the SS by taking part in a prison break and art robbery, with the help of a liberal camp commandant. This all-star action adventure is an old-fashioned, enjoyable romp, with Roger Moore, David Niven, Telly Savalas, Elliott Gould, Stefanie Powers and Claudia Cardinale (888)

Carry On Doctor (PG) 1967 The regular team, augmented by Frankie Howerd, find themselves in hospital for this bawdy entry in the much-loved comedy series. A popular doctor is given the sack after he is caught in a compromising position, prompting the furious patients to stage a revolt against the luckless medic's strait-laced superiors. With Sid James, Kenneth Williams, Charles Hawtrey and Jim Dale (888)

Mean Girls (12) 2004 A girl starts at a new school where she's stunned to become part of the most popular clique. However, a dating faux pas leads to trouble and it's not long before her new friends turn on her. Urged on by her outsider pals, the new arrival resolves to bring down the self-appointed queen of campus only to end up adopting some of her rival's crueller characteristics. Catty comedy, starring Lindsay Lohan, Rachel McAdams, Tina Fey and Lacey Chabert (888)

Blade II (18) 2002 The half-vampire swordsman teams up with his lifelong foes to defeat a horde of murderous mutant bloodsuckers. However, he soon discovers that the new breed of undead are immune to his usual methods of eradication. Gory horror sequel, starring Wesley Snipes, Kris Kristofferson, Leonor Varela and Norman Reedus, with a scene-stealing performance by Luke Goss. Directed by genre maestro Guillermo del Toro (888)

One Missed Call (15) 2003 A woman receives a message on her mobile over which she hears sounds of a violent death. But the call appears to have come from her own phone three days in the future and three days later, she dies at the time the call was made. As her friend investigates, she learns this is not an isolated incident and tries to discover the origin of this sinister phenomenon. Japanese horror, starring Kou Shibasaki and Shin'ichi Tsutsumi
