1946 John Mills heads the cast of this breathtaking, Oscar-winning adaptation of the classic Dickens novel about a poor orphan whose fortune is made thanks to a mysterious benefactor, following his many adventures as he journeys toward adulthood and success. Directed by David Lean, whose credits also include The Bridge on the River Kwai, Lawrence of Arabia and Doctor Zhivago. 1957 Classic Oscar-winning World War Two drama. Alec Guinness stars as a British colonel in a Japanese PoW camp who is ordered to build a railway bridge over the River Kwai, forging a vital link in military communications.
