Three new chnls for Foxtel
BBC Worldwide and Foxtel have unveiled details of the two channels the UK broadcaster will launch on the Australian digital-TV platform ahead of schedule, as well as a new home-grown Foxtel channel.
CBeebies, the BBC’s pre-school channel, will offer advertising-free programming for under-sixes, presented by Australian hosts “to bring local flavour and relevance”. BBC Worldwide is also launching BBC Knowledge, offering documentary and non-fiction programming. Scheduled for 2009, the channels will launch early, on November 1.
Foxtel’s own service, Channel 111, is a family-oriented general entertainment channel and will be offered as part of Foxtel’s most basic package, Get Started. It will be produced by Foxtel’s Owned and Operated Group.
