Mediaset won't go for Digital+
Italy's major media group Mediaset has said that Sogecable's pay-TV satellite operator Digital+ is not within its plans.
Mediaset is the major investor in Spain's national private TV channel Telecinco and some days ago Rapid TV News reported some serious rumours that the Italian group joined those interested in the operator which is on sale.
But Mediasetís Marco Giordiani declared: "The possible investments in Digital+ are not part of our strategy". He added that Digital+'s value is under Ä2,000 million while Sogecable is asking for some Ä3.500 million.
Telecinco has reorganized itself toward the new future of Spain's audiovisual, creating new divisions such as those of Television, New Business, Film, Rights Management and Content Production.
