EU launches new TV channel

The European Union is adding a sister service to its TV station Europe by Satellite (EbS). Launching early 2009, EbS+ will offer EU-related raw material without editorial comment, whether live coverage or edited news extracts.

As the content is shown with no commentary, it will be suitable for usage by TV channels in their own news broadcasts. Test transmissions will take place between October 6 and the end of December. EbS+ will use the same satellite slot as EbS on Sirius (5 East) on the frequency 12.245 GHz V (SR 27,500, FEC 3/4).
