Official launch date set for French HD-DTT

Five HD DTT channels – HD TF1, France 2 HD, Arte HD, Canal + HD and M6 HD – will be officially launched in France on October 30 at 15.30, in the presence of Christine Albanel (Minister of Culture and of Communication), Eric Besson (Secretary of State) and Michel Boyon (president of the CSA).

On that date, 27 transmitters, covering 40% of the metropolitan population, will already be on air. By May 31, 2009, new transmitters should reach more than 60% of the population with terrestrial HD broadcasts.
