TPSA hit by heavy fine

Polandís Office of Electronic Communications (UKE) has fined the incumbent telco TPSA PLN5 million (Ä1.3 million) for failing to provide accurate information on leased lines.

The regulator required the information by June 3 this year in order to assess the competitiveness of the marketplace. According to the UKE, it is empowered to fine companies in such cases up to 3% of their revenues.

TPSA is the leading IPTV operator in Poland, with most alternative carriers having yet to launch services.
