All change for French TV

France's national TV networks are busy anticipating France Télévisions new prime-time January schedules. Changes are expected because of the planned total advertising ban kicking in after 8:00pm.

Privately owned network M6 and cultural channel Arte have already said that they will bring their prime-time slots forward as of January 5th. M6 prime-time will then start at 8:35pm (like pubcaster France Télévisions' programming), while Arte will shift to 8:45pm instead of 9:00 pm.

This implies notably that M6 also bring its 7:45-8:30pm slot forward.

Among programming likely to be affected is a project already planned in the shape of a new daily news transmission. For the moment TF1 has not released its forward strategy yet.
