No M6 for Champions League

French broadcaster M6 has not countered TF1 and Canal+’s bids for UEFA Champions’ League soccer matches. Answering the call for tenders, TF1, Canal+ and France Télévisions confirmed to Team Marketing AG their candidacy for the rights for the 2009-2012 competition.

The call for tenders had been split into seven lots. M6 has not answered at all while Orange has, but on secondary lots.

Over the 2006-2009 period, rights for the first choice matches are owned by TF1 for a total amount of €39 million (US$49 million) while Canal+ holds rights for the €29 million second choice matches.
