NBC Universal Global Networks Iberia will launch Sci-Fi in Portugal this weekend, December 6, on pay TV operator PT Comunicaçoes' MEO.

The company launched last year the same channel in Japan and Russia and it also has it in Spain with big success in the pay-TV business (Sogecable's Digital+ and Telefónica's Imagenio).

NBC hopes to double its international incomes, to reach €4.000 million in 2010.

Meanwhile, Sony Pictures Television International Networks Iberia (SPTINI) has begun distributing its SET and Animax channels via Portuguese pay TV operator Cabovisâo. Both channels dedicated to entertainment and the anime contents are already on Meo and Clix SmarTV's offerings in Portugal.
