New twist in Polish DTT saga

Poland may eventually have only three DVB-T multiplexes following ASO, rather than the six that are currently planned.

The scenario, which was given by Anna Strezynska, the president of the Office of Electronic Communications and reported in Rzeczpospolita, envisages that one of the remaining three multiplexes would be allocated to mobile TV and the other two to broadband services.

Neither Polandís TV stations nor the countryís other regulator the National Broadcasting Council (KRRiT) favour such a scenario, with the latter preferring to see at least four DVB-T multiplexes.
