Orange, Canal+ disagree on I-Tl

French TV regulatory body CSA has confirmed it has been asked by operator Orange to arbitrate a disgreement with Canal+ group.

This regards Oranges intention to broadcast Canal+ news channel I-Tl as well as Canal+ unencrypted programming via its satellite offer. But Vivendis subsidiary is opposed to its channels being broadcast on Oranges satellite package, despite both channels already being offered via Oranges IPTV platform.

According to Orange, such a refusal is prejudicial against its DTH subscribers as those free channels are available on other platforms. CSA will have two months to take a decision.
