France 24 to feed international news sites

The international French news channel France 24 has signed a number of syndication deals to bring video content to a number of international news sites. The new partners include: The Independent (UK), Fairfax (Australia), Yahoo (France), Publico (Portugal), Le Temps (Switzerland), and MSN

France 24 will supply these sites daily with news reports in English and in French. “The channel is thus successfully forging ahead with its content syndication strategy that began in December 2006 at its launch,” said the broadcaster in a statement. “What is more, these different partner sites will be able to offer their visitors live broadcasts of major news events covered by France 24 (election nights, political
speeches, press conferences, etc).”

As Stanislas Leridon, France 24’s internet and new media director, put it: “from the outset, France 24 opted for on-line video and content syndication. These two strategic choices have propelled France to the forefront of international news websites.”
