History launches in Central Europe

History Channel’s affiliate people have had a busy few days. Earlier this week they added HD carriage in South Korea on Korea Telecom’s Mega TV IPTV platform. Now the core channel has been extended to include distribution in Serbia, Bosnia and Croatia.

History Channel recently debuted in Serbia on Telemark and on Serbia Broadband’s cable and DTH platforms. The channel is also carried in Serbia on PTT. In addition, History and History HD have both launched in Croatia on T-Com, while in Bosnia, History launched on Art Net in November.

“The distribution partnerships we have struck in Serbia, Croatia and Bosnia are evidence of the growth potential of Pay TV in the region,” said Tom Davidson, MD/The History Channel UK. “SBB, Telemark, T-Com and Art Net are leading platforms in Central Europe and together we look forward to an exciting future in this region.”
