TNT Serie on German cable

Entertainment channel TNT Serie, which will launch on January 28 in Germany, will be part of the pay-TV package “Kabel Digital Home” on the cable network of Kabel Deutschland (KDG), Germany’s largest cable company.

After pay-TV operator Premiere, which will include TNT Serie in its family package, KDG is the second platform on which parent company Turner Broadcasting System (TBS) has gained carriage for its new channel.

With a total of around 2.3 million households, TNT Serie will have the largest reach at launch any pay-TV service has ever achieved in Germany. The TV subsidiary of US-based media company Time Warner also announced in Munich that negotiations are taking place with further cable operators and IPTV platform providers.

TBS and KDG have also extended their carriage contracts for existing pay-TV channels Cartoon Network, Turner Classic Movies and Boomerang.

TNT Serie will screen international comedy and drama series without commercial breaks in widescreen format 16:9 both in the dubbed German and the original language version. Initially, the service will be available between 20.15 and 6.00 CET with a 24 hour schedule starting in June.
