DTT channels double ad income

Last year, announcers spent €6.6 billion gross on advertising on French television, reports TV advertising syndicate SNPTV. The ad incomes of DTT channels were up 94% over one year at €821.4 million to represent 12% of the total investments.

Adding cable, IPTV and satellite channels, ad spend on complementary channels reached €1.58 billion last year, up 28%. At the same time, the historical networks’ share decreased 2.2% to reach €4.37 billion gross. The food sector remained the main advertiser with €1.25 billion poured in.
