Spain's TV3 and IB3 to study joint IPTV channel

Spanish TV channels IB3 (available in the Balearic islands) and TV3 (the public television channel of the Catalan region) have formed an agreement to look into the viability of partnering on delivering a joint channel for IPTV services in the country, according to reports in local news portal DiariDeGirona.

The channel would carry content from both organisations, and Albert Moragues, Director General of IB3, said that the agreement represents "a further step for the future with a view to the consolidation of Spanish-language television", and that the new channel would offer viewers a "broader range of television than currently offered."

A joint committee made up of representatives from both companies is to take responsibility for moving the project forward.
