In a move that is sure to see a few more 'freesat' boxes being shifted, the BBC will broadcast all of this year's six nations rugby fixtures featuring Wales, England or Scotland in high definition.
It has been a bit hit and miss recently as to which sporting events the BBC have chosen to broadcast. Motor sport fans were disappointed that there was no HD coverage of last years Grand Prix so it will come as a pleasant surprise to rugby fans that there will be six nations coverage. That coverage however, will only feature games in which England, Scotland or Wales play a part.
At the moment, UK consumers can access the BBC's HD channel through one of three providers - Sky HD, Virgin Media or the no-subscription Freesat service.
The schedule for the six nations ruby matches being shown is as follows;
February 7th: England vs Italy
February 8th: Scotland vs Wales
February 14th: Wales vs England
February 28th: Scotland vs Italy
March 14th: Scotland vs Ireland
March 15th: England vs France
March 21st: England vs Scotland, followed by Wales vs Ireland
