Orange will lose iPhone exclusivity

Paris' Court of Appeal has confirmed the end of Orange‘s exclusivity on Apple’s iPhone in France, as previously decided by competitive regulator Conseil de la Concurrence.

Orange, which has announced the sale of 600,000 iPhone since November 2007 had signed a five year exclusive deal that was supposed to run until 2012.

Competitors Bouygues Telecoms and SFR are currently talking with Apple in order to be able to offer iPhones within five or six weeks. Orange has announced it will file a new appeal.
