Polish TV ad market on a roll

Several TV channels posted exceptionally good ad revenue figures in January despite the worries over the global economic crisis.

Data produced by TNS OBOP for Wirtualne Media shows that TVN earned PLN124,943,699 (27,733,527), or 6.2% more than in the same period last year, while TVP1 with PLN95,680,597 and TVP2 with PLN64,356,909 were 18% and 32.8% better off respectively than in January 2008.

Although Polsat (PLN107,933,662; -11.5%) and TV Puls (PLN12,311,900; -23.3%) were among the losers, pride of place went to AXN.

The action and adventure channel had revenues of PLN15,318,835 in January 2009, or 120.7% more than a year earlier.
