Sony introduce six new LCD TV's lines

With the accent firmly on cutting edge technology alongside ecologically aware features, Sony have introduced six new LCD TV lines.

The latest incarnation of Sony's impressive 'Bravia' picture processing technology makes its debut in the form of 'Bravia 3' while exciting multimedia features such as 'AppliCast' technology connects the latest range of BRAVIA TVs to the internet through a built-in Ethernet port.

Almost all of the new screens display the 'EU Flower’ – an Eco-label introduced by the European Commission to certify greener, more environmentally friendly products complying with strict performance ecological and standards.

With a striking white bezel design, Sony's WE5W features a micro-tubular HCFL backlight that reduces power consumption by over 50%. An innovative 'Intelligent Presence Sensor' switches off the TV when you leave the room. The 40in and 46in WE5W also feature BRAVIA Engine 3 picture processing and Motionflow 100Hz along with IB reduction for smoother moving images.

The W5500 will be available in 32in, 37in, 40in, 46in and 52in varieties and also comes with BRAVIA Engine 3 picture processing, Motionflow 100Hz along with IB reduction. The W5500 also features 'AppliCast' technology which has been designed to bring the internet to the TV in the form of widgets. These widgets provide access to content such as RSS feeds, stock prices and weather reports.

Available in Black, Aluminium or Walnut-effect finishes the E5500 comes in 32in or 40in sizes. The two screens feature BRAVIA Engine 3 picture processing, Motionflow 100Hz, IB reduction and USB input.

The 22in E5300 comes equipped with four HDMI inputs, AppliCast technology, and a USB Media Player. The screen is available in either a black or white finish.

Likely to be Sony's 'bread and butter' series, the V5500 arrives in 32in, 37in, 40in, 46in and 52in varieties. Featuring Bravia ENGINE 3 picture processing the mid range series also incorporates DLNA which lets you stream video, music and photos from a networked home PC. AppliCast internet technology is also a feature of the V5500 series.

The entry level S5500 arrives in 22in, 32in, 37in and 40in varieties featuring three HDMI inputs along with USB connectivity. Like the rest of the new Bravia line-up, Eco Settings include various Power Saving modes along with Idle TV Standby.
