Two months to choose Freeview or satellite
February 23, 2009
Within two months, the analogue signal being broadcast in the West Country will be switched off.
In order to explain the situation and show TV viewers in the region the choices that they have to keep receiving their favourite TV shows, Digital UK will be touring the area for seven weeks.
The Switchover Roadshow will explain to viewers the options of either satellite TV provided by BSkyB or the free-to-view services provided by Freeview and Freesat.
Along with that, the roadshow will also have information for residents of the region on what help is available to them during the switchover period.
The roadshow will provide information on:
the dates for the switchover and options for people to go digital;
the Switchover Help Scheme, which can help older and disabled people get a TV converted;
general and technical questions, which will be answered by Digital UK’s specially trained advisors.
They will also be able to meet Digit Al - Digital UK’s iconic robot, star of BBC and commercial television.
