Real aims to reach 10 mn household on launch Real Global Broadcasting, the joint venture between the Turner International and the Alva Brothers Entertainment, today said it expects to kick-off its Hindi general entertainment channel, Real with a reach on 10 million homes.
The company is currently in talks with leading DTH players also to have a significant presence in the segment at the time of launch early next month.

“We are on the Zee Turner bouquet and at the time of launch we will be in 10 million homes,”Real Global Broadcasting Chairman Nikhil Alva said.

For the DTH segment he said:”Currently talks are in final stages with many players but we will have a significant presence in the segment when we launch our channel on March 2.”

Real will go on-air with three key shows. It will have a reality show’Sarkaar ki duniya’with Bollywood actor Ashutosh Rana playing the main role. The other shows are’Vicky Ki Taxi’and’Namaak Haraam’.

Asked about advertising revenues, Alva said,”Definitely there has been a slowdown due to the economic conditions. Last year the growth was 18 per cent but this year we expect it to be around 10-12 per cent.”

He said while the company will be starting with a Hindi general entertainment channel, in future it may also expand to other segments. He, however, declined to disclose details.
