Premiere Sues Kathrein
The pay-TV operator Premiere is suing German digital receiver producer Kathrein-Werke for 26 million euros penalty According to Premiere , between the years 2006 and 2008 Kathrein has imported satellite digital receivers which allow to watch its pay TV services without payment using various emulators .
Premiere claims that during the abovementioned period Kathrein has imported a total of 219,392receivers and violate the German law that prohibits the selling of such devices 527 times .
Kathrein responded to the law suit saying "it has always acted correctly". A lawyer speaking on behalf of the company sid on Friday " I am very optimistic about the further process . The contract between Premiere and Kathrein-Werke KG was for the development and production of Premiere-appropriate set top boxes. Kathrein has all of its obligations always respected. May want Premiere of own financial problems and failings distracted".
