KidsCo arrives in Portugal

Spain's biggest producer of thematic channels Teuve has reached an agreement with Portuguese operator Clix to launch children's channel Kidsco within its digital offering Clix SmarTV.

Clix belongs to Sonae, one of Portugal's biggest media groups and becomes the first operator to have this channel in the country. Clix SmarTV broadcasts on IPTV and has a 100-channel thematic offering.

Kidsco is a multi-platform channel broadcasting 24 hours a day seven days a week. It was born as a result of a joint-venture among three producers: Nelvana Enterprises, DIC Entertainment and Sparrowhawk Media, adcquired last year by US NBC Universal. Kidsco's goal is to compete with the international channels and to get to broadcast in 40 countries before the end of this year.

The channel, distributed in Spain through Teuve, arrives now in Portugal thanks to the Spanish producer.
