Sony TVs to get Freesat

by David Allen

The Japanese electronics giant Sony will be producing TVs that have an integrated Freesat tuner by the end of the year, according to a company spokesperson at a UK press event.

This step follows an announcement by rival TV maker Panasonic, which has intentions of producing TVs with an integrated Freesat tuner too.
Unfortunately, although Sony has made tentative remarks about producing this equipment, it has left out the details, and there is no indication as to what sizes or types of TV will have the Freesat tuner included.

Not offering too many details about the new additions to the range would imply that it is only in the planning stages and no definite decision has been made as to where this product is going to fit into Sony’s current offering.
