DTT interest mounts in Bulgaria

Bulgaria’s forthcoming DTT tenders for two multiplexes are already attracting strong interest.

According to Novinite, no fewer than 50 companies have already declared their intention to take part in the two contests, which are expected to run simultaneously.

They include the incumbent telco BTC and Austria’s ORS, which are set to put in a joint bid despite the latter’s recent failure to conclude the acquisition of a majority stake in NURTS, BTC’s transmission network.

Earlier this year the deal, believed to be worth €80 million, failed to receive the green light from the Communications Regulation Council (CRC), which said it needed more time to reach a decision.
