ProSiebenSat.1 considers internet sales

German television group ProSiebenSat.1 is considering shedding several of its web portals.

A sale of individual online platforms which do not belong to the company’s core assets is a possibility, so long as the price is right, a ProSiebenSat.1 spokesman told news agency dpa. This could affect sites such as,, or The sale of more prominent portals such as, or is, however, out of the question.

The Munich-based company is currently labouring under debts of €3.4 billion, mostly acquired through the takeover of European TV and radio operator SBS in 2007. ProSiebenSat.1 has also been affected by the downturn in TV advertising revenue caused by the economic crisis.
